Minimum of 6 required to run this class. Refreshment included. Suit youngsters age 10-16 years - and maybe an accompanying adult to make it a family occasion!

Many youngsters are keen to start cooking in the kitchen, so why not bring them along to the Cookery Studio where they can join one of our specialised workshops? If they give their permission (!), they can even be accompanied by an adult family member to cook alongside them to make it a family occasion. We’re passionate about introducing real food and real cooking techniques to educate and inspire the younger generation. Our classes are very much hands on, with a variety of dishes on the menu. Youngsters from Year 6 (age 10/11) and upwards are welcome to join this cooking class.

Our Young Chefs will have a fun day on this cookery class as they learn the techniques of making bread and pastry from scratch, together with the simplicity of creating a delicious cream dessert -  so that they can return to their kitchen at home and put their new skills into practice and impress friends and family!

The sample menu for this class is:

  • A Flavoured Bread
  • A Shortcrust Pastry Tart with a Savoury Filling
  • Something sweet - such as Crema Catalana

Whilst in the Cookery Studio Kitchen we will share with you the key skills needed to work safely and creatively in the kitchen; this will include the safe handling of knives and kitchen equipment as well as the safe & hygienic handling of food. 

We invite you to join us at 9.30am to meet other class members and your chef. We will talk you through the class menu and how the day will run before you move through to our purpose designed kitchen, surrounded by the beautiful Oast gardens. With small classes of around 8 people, the step-by-step tuition is fun and easy to follow as you are supported by the Cookery Studio team. At the end of cooking you will have your creations to take home with you to share with the rest of the family. You will also receive a recipe booklet so that dishes can be replicated at home with confidence.
