Join the Cookery Studio for this one day cookery experience and learn how to create stand-out British Gastro Pub dishes at home. Great food in Britain has become inspired as never before. At the Cookery Studio we would like to share this inspiration with you as we serve food in a modern British style. This class is aimed at those who want to develop key skills, and feel more confident and become inspired when cooking. It will teach you how to re-create simple, but great, Gastro Pub inspired dishes to share with your family and friends in the relaxed atmosphere of your own home.

On this Cookery Studio day-class you will learn that the quality of ingredients and the intensity of food flavours - when blended with a precision of skills (including knife skills) - create robust, good-looking dishes that people can’t wait to eat. You will discover how to create fulsome, tasty sharing dishes and chef will share tips on how to adapt these recipes to increase your culinary repertoire! 

A sample menu:

  • Discover the ease of making a delicious, warming Soda Bread as an accompaniment to your Gastro Pub dishes
  • Create a savoury filo tartlet filled with pea puree, feta and sun-dried tomatoes as a tasty starter and discover how to adapt a range of savoury fillings to 'ring the changes'
  • Pan-fry either duck or pork fillet to serve with a Biddenden cider cream sauce and apple
  • See how a colourful array of vegetables complements your savoury dishes, focussing on stylish presentation
  • Satisfy your sweet tooth with a classic pub dessert, such as a Vanilla / Orange Creme Brulee or a Cinnamon & Nut Fruit Crumble

Please note that children aged 12 to 16 are welcome to attend and participate in any of our classes at the full cost of a place, but they MUST be accompanied by one paying adult.

We invite you to join us at 9.30am for coffee where you will meet other class members and your chef. We will talk you through the class menu and how the day will run before you move through to our purpose designed kitchen, surrounded by the beautiful Oast gardens. With small classes of around 8 people, the step-by-step tuition is fun and easy to follow as you are supported by the Cookery Studio team. At the end of cooking you will be able to dine - with a glass of wine - and enjoy the dishes you have prepared. You will receive a recipe booklet to take away with you. Please note that the dishes listed on this class may vary due to the availability of fresh produce as a result of seasonal changes & availability.
